Michael's latest release, Watercolor Sky, celebrates his love for Windham Hill Records, the independent record label in the 1980s and 1990s that practically created its own genre. The album is available now, and you can purchase signed copies of the CD from Bandcamp.
Watercolor Sky is nine tracks of contemporary instrumental music from the prolific composer, and features a dream team of musical talent including Mark Isham, Michael Manring, Nancy Rumbel, Will Ackerman, and Charlie Bisharat.
Michael recently checked out the new Chroma synthesizer and said, "Cherry Audio has done it again! They have captured the incredible depth and richness of the Chroma in a plug-in. An incredible achievement. Now, I have another everyday synthesizer." He also took it for a spin and posted a performance on his Facebook page:
"As part of the celebration of the release of Cherry Audio's Chroma plugin, I created a fun little riff in A minor and chose a lead sound (Hard Sync Unison) that you wouldn't normally associate with the Chroma. Cherry Audio's new Chroma is so versatile and great sounding. They are truly the BEST of the synth plugin companies on the planet. I also downloaded the newest version of Logic Pro X (11.0) and used a number of the sounds and processors included with this excellent new edition of this DAW. Enjoy this rocking little jam."
An inspired composer and songwriter, Michael has a portfolio of awarding-winning music that spans decades made possible with a combination of hard-work ethic, gifted musicianship, masterful production technique and skillful music supervisor management. Some of his best-known works: “Veronika Decides to Die”, “What the Bleep Do You Know?”, “As The World Turns”, themes for HBO, CBS News, ABC News’ “Good Morning America”, “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, dozens of specials for PBS, National Geographic, Discovery, The BBC, NHK and the History Channel and television films for Lifetime and the Hallmark Channel.
