Centripidity's Little Plucker Module and the Sound of V'Ger!

Mar 31, 2023 | Centripidity

Voltage Modular developer Centripidity has released The Little Plucker and posted a demo video (above).

Here's a quick demo of the sorts of sounds that can be made by our new oscillator, The Little Plucker, one of our new modules for Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular. As the name suggests it aims to mimic the sound of a plucked or hammered string.

Fellow Voltage Modular developer Grant Middleton of Dome Music Technologies and electronic music project Under the Dome created an "enterprising" demo using The Little Plucker and the R Ware AW_Universe module. The patch recreates the famed "blaster beam" sound popularized by inventor musician Craig Huxley and used in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) to create the signature "V'ger" sound.

Centripidity has also released several other new modules and updates over the past few weeks, including Slow Scope and Aleatoric Interval Sequencer, both seen in action here and in their AIS playlist on YouTube.
