LOOPREC for Voltage Modular from Waverley Instruments

Oct 24, 2024 | Waverley Instruments

Waverley Instruments has released LOOPREC (above), a new live looping recorder module designed for live performance that allows you to specify your loop length in realtime. It's on sale now as part of Cherry Audio's October Surprise Voltage Modular Sale, now through November 4th.

Unlike some other delay and file-based looper modules, LOOPREC is an audio looping recorder designed for live / improvised performance that allows you to specify your loop length in realtime when you first record a loop. If you’re familiar with looping pedals or “loop stations”, you should have no problem getting to grips with LOOPREC’s features and functions. LOOPREC can also import and export loops as files and restore them between sessions. Maximum loop length is 120 seconds / two minutes of high quality mono audio.

They've also posted a demo video (below) of a performance with four LOOPRECs:

There are four LOOPRECs in play. From left to right...

1 - Vocal sample (*) processed with PANDUALAY

2 - Drum loop (created with PERCSTATION)

3 - Bass loop (created with MIDIMONO LITE)

4 - Twiddly Bits (created with MIDIMONOX2) processed with AULDELAY

The melody is played live via MIDI using a MIDI keyboard controlling MIDIMONO LITE processed with QUADELAY CE.

Audio mixed with MINIMIX8.

MIDISWITCH3 is being used to send LOOP and STOP CV triggers to LOOPRECs 2, 3 and 4 simultaneously. The stop trigger is also assigned to MIDI CC 64 (sustain pedal) so the loops can be stopped remotely while playing the MIDI keyboard.

Created and recorded entirely in Voltage Modular - no additional processing. All modules by Waverley Instruments.
