Composer John Massari, the mastermind who brought the unique musical vibe of the original "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" movie to life, is back to work on the game’s soundtrack! John has been a big supporter of Cherry Audio, and used a number of the instruments and effects on this recent project: Miniverse, Surrealistic MG-1 Plus, Mercury-4, Dreamsynth, CA2600, Memorymode, and Stardust 201 Tape Echo.
You can read more about John's past and present with the KKFOS franchise in his interview in the latest issue of NME.
"I generally pick one to three and explore with a specific sound in mind on any given track," he told us. "This way the track has a sound and character. On The Darkkest Karnival, I used Miniverse for that jet engine whine/revving up on the intro, then Mercury-4 and Dreamsynth for the rest." Listen to this electrifying main theme (above) that John composed and recorded for the upcoming multiplayer horror title. It's a blood-pumping track that pays homage to the original ‘Klown March’ recorded in 1987, while also adding darker, unexpected modern twists to its structure.
Good Shepherd Entertainment and Teravision Games' "Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game" will release next year on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One, just in time for KKFOS‘s 35th anniversary.
