Pentaphonic by Cherry Audio: Vintage Synth Soul

Oct 7, 2026 | The Sampleist

Tune in with musician Peter Gagliardi of The Sampleist as he previews the sounds of Pentaphonic, along with his original composition, "Interstellar Fault."

Cherry Audio comes roaring back with another vintage recreation, this time the extremely rare 1981 Gleeman Pentaphonic. This one is so rare that there are less than 70 units that were ever built. It has an extremely thick beautiful sound driven by 15 digitally controlled oscillators each with eight wave forms. It also has a rich analog filter section and a 600 note sequencer. Cherry Audio has again taken the original synthesizer beyond its original boundaries and added their own improvements to make it feel right at home in 2026. With the addition of a 16 x 4 polyphonic step sequencer, an additional LFO, PWM and 22 on board effects plus several others that truly make this a synthesizer worth making part of your workflow. Please join Peter Gagliardi as he plays his way through the newest incarnation of Pentaphonic.
